Functions of Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) of Nepal

The Full Form of CIAA is the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority. CIAA is a constitutional body of Nepal. The provisions relating to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) are mentioned under Part 21 of the Constitution of Nepal.

Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) is a constitutional body that conducts, investigations of any abuse of authority committed through corruption by any person who has held public office.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) consists of five members one Chief Commissioner and four Commissioners. The term of office of the Chief Commissioner and other Commissioners is six years from the date of appointment.

Functions of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA)

The major functions of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) are as follows:-

1. To conduct investigations of abuse of authority committed through corruption by public officials,

2. To file cases in court against that person involved in corruption,

3. To issue an order to rectify bad results,

4. To conduct inquiries and investigations as per complaints received against corruption,

5. To conduct probe action regarding corruption done by any public officials.
